Silica/Silicea is indicated first of all in order to push out any foreign body, such as a thorn or a splinter.

If there`s the slighest problem getting the splinter etc. out manually it`s better to use Silicea as it usually works very fast and will be less painful.

Start with Silicea 30c or 30k, up to 3 doses daily for a few days, but often only 1-2 doses will be necessary.

Although we shouldn`t exaggerate, this remedy will try to push out any foreign body and will also help the body to re-absorb or push out any pus round the injury if it has gone septic. It`s often the only remedy possible to heal up the injury.

To be sure never give this remedy to anyone who has had a transplant of any kind or a pacemaker or has still shrapnel from e.g. old war wounds or other injuries, as it possible that the remedy could try to push these out as well !

Dear Wim

Thanks for that post, agree'd the wonderfull  workings of sil are amazing. But i have not ever seen this  work on 'pushing out body piercings'.? Not that people with body piercings WANT the silver rings out of their body. Just curious why it did not do the usual sil. journey? Do you know why.....................

I think it`s because a piercing has usually a ring or pin which blocks any spontaneous removal by Silica, because it is attached by piercing the epidermis twice. Silicea is usually able to push out an object from the soft inner tissue through the epidermis only once.

Dear Wim

Hmmm........verry interesting thought! You might be right! There is always an in and out when it comes to a piercing.
